What We Do
Four interconnected programme pillars deliver holistic support, from STEM training to mentorship, career opportunities, and community engagement.
STEM Education
Coding, Robotics & Digital Literacy
Our flagship STEM Education programme delivers hands-on coding, robotics, and digital literacy workshops to girls in secondary schools across northern Ghana. We partner with local schools to provide structured after-school and weekend sessions, equipping girls with 21st-century skills.
Programme Activities
- Coding workshops (Python, Scratch, HTML/CSS)
- Robotics and electronics with Arduino kits
- Digital literacy and computer fundamentals
- STEM clubs in partner schools
- Annual STEM fairs and hackathons
- Summer coding bootcamps
Mentorship
One-on-One & Group Mentoring
We connect girls with accomplished female professionals in STEM for regular mentoring sessions. Our mentors provide career guidance, share their journeys, and help girls build confidence and professional networks long before they enter the workforce.
Programme Activities
- Bi-weekly one-on-one mentoring sessions
- Group mentoring circles
- Career readiness workshops
- Role model speaker series
- University visit programmes
Career Opportunity Support
Connecting STEM Potential to Opportunity
YELE’s Career Opportunity Support provides practical assistance, guidance, connections, and pathways that help girls transition from STEM interest and education to further study, professional development, and career opportunities. YELE works to connect participants with the opportunities, resources, people, and experiences they need to move forward.
Programme Activities
- Scholarship & Funding Linkages
- Internship & Work-Experience Linkages
- Professional Networks
- STEM Tools & Learning Support
- University & Further-Education Linkages
Community Engagement
Building Ecosystems of Support
Lasting change requires community buy-in. We work with families, community leaders, school administrators, and local government to create environments where girls are encouraged and supported to pursue STEM education and careers.
Programme Activities
- Parent and guardian sensitisation sessions
- Community leader engagement workshops
- School and teacher capacity building
- STEM awareness campaigns
- Local government policy advocacy
STEM Clubs
YELE Foundation is preparing to launch school-based STEM clubs across secondary and basic schools in the Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regions.
School Chapters Coming Soon
We haven't established any clubs yet, but we are actively laying the groundwork with partner schools and educators. Soon, each school club will have its own dedicated page featuring its members, student executives, projects, and achievements.
